Fishing Boats on the Beach at Saintes-Maries

I am looking tonight at the bright colors of the ship he used in this painting. Even though the boats are next to each other I still feel a certain amount of loneliness in these paintings. I learned about his methods that he first made a quick sketch on scene and then at a later time applied the colors on the painting.
